Pacquiao Beats Diaz.! 

On June 28, 2008, WBC super featherweight champ Manny Pacquiao (47-3-2, 36KOs) moved up in weight to beat up David Diaz (34-2-1, 17KOs) over nine-rounds to capture the WBC lightweight title. 

Held at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, It was an expectacular debut for Pacquiao at 135-pounds. He was stronger and faster than Diaz, pounding him with big punches from the first-round. He cut the nose of Diaz in the second-round and a few rounds later he busted up the right eye of Diaz, turning the fight into a bloody affair. All these from a guy who started his career at 106-pounds.
 
Apparently, Diaz never saw Pacquiao's jab which is followed by a left hand in the ninth round. This ultimately sent Diaz down face first to the mat and the referee jumped in to stop the action.

Pacquiao puts his name in the history books as the only Asian fighter to win four major titles in four weight classes.

The New York Giants did it.! They won Superbowl XLII.  And as expected from a team that plays with a lot of heart, the Giants accomplished one of the greatest upsets in NFL history when they beat the New England Patriots by three points (17 to 14) during the most awaited football game of the year on Sunday night Feb 3, 2008. The Giants Quarterback Eli Manning led the big blue into victory when he shattered New England's unbeaten season with the winning touchdown pass to Plaxico Burress with 35 seconds left in the 4th quarter. Combine that with the team's unrelenting defensive lineup and David Tyree's amazing leaping catch, which was NY's first score in the beginning of the last quarter, then we sure have our champions. Go Giants Go!!
